Lecturer Info TEXTBOOK
& UNIT MATERIAL ORDERING
The teaching material ordering process begins in September
and April each year.
Adoption lists formally known as textbook orders refer to Prescribed
texts and Recommended texts.
Orders can be placed via our online service from the following
Web address which will take you directly to the Textbook ordering
area for Lecturing Staff.
https://www.murdoch.edu.au/ofm/forms/textorder.form
(A Murdoch username and password are required to use this service).
If you would prefer to advise the teaching material coordinator
Matthew Marino of your requirements via email: M.Marino@murdoch.edu.au.
Murdoch, Rockingham and Peel campuses' are treated and catered
for individually. Please ensure forms/lists are submitted for all
relevant campuses. In previous semesters different books & editions
have been Prescribed for individual campuses. If the same teaching
materials are used for both campuses please make a note of this
is the comments area on your initial order.
Listed below is a more in-depth explanation of policies & procedures,
however if you require any more information on the procedures of
ordering, please do not hesitate to contact Matthew
Marino.
LATE ORDERS & BOOKLISTS
It takes an average on 12-16 weeks for stock to arrive via normal
delivery methods sea freight (without incurring any extra costs).
Airfreight costs for late texts is currently at approx $10.00 per
book and takes on average 4-6 weeks for delivery. In order for our
Australian Suppliers to deliver our order on time we must advise
them early.
The Booklist for students is produced from information provided
on the Adoption Form/Lists, and late orders hold up the production
of the list. It is even more crucial now that the book list is online
as it takes a considerable amount of time to input data in the appropriate
format.
There has been a misconception in the past that if we already have
the texts in stock that you do not need to place an order - this
is incorrect. If you do not advise the Bookshop of your intention
to use a particular book we have in stock, we will return it to
our Supplier.
NO SET TEXT & UNIT READERS, MATERIALS, CALCULATORS,
LAB COATS, NURSING KITS ETC
If you find that there will be No Set Text for the unit and only
a Unit Reader or any other item it is also crucial that the Bookshop
is advised. We often find students enquire about a unit but we have
no information . In order to provide students with all the information
& teaching materials they require to successfully complete their
units we must be notified of all material/s & other products
they are required to purchase.
Unit Readers, Materials, Lab Manuals are often used and are also
the only Prescribed material/items that the student needs to purchase,
PLEASE include this information on forms.
COMPETITORS
As a matter of professional integrity no relating information
should be provided to competitors about Murdoch units and teaching
requirements.
The University Bookshop is a self-funding operation & provides
competitive pricing plus all profits returned to the University
are used to improve facilities and services within Divisions.
Thank you for taking the time to read all the relevant information.
